Participation within the community
House of Salvation participates actively in the yearly community Gala and do host a yearly barbeque session for the community.
The Portlethen Gala is an annual event organised by various volunteers in the community usually set aside as a Family Fun Day. It usually takes place during the summer at the Portlethen Academy with lots of entertainment such as rides, Segways, land train and bouncy castles as well as displays from different groups of organisations which invite locals to participate in various competitions.
House of Salvation, Portlethen has been participating in the Gala event since 2013. We have contributed in our own little way to the gaiety of the occasion by providing a store where different family fun games were played and prizes won. In 2013, our Gospel Choir gave a wonderful rendition which drew the attention of many.
