What to expect at our Sunday Service.

love - House of Salvation

An atmosphere of love and acceptance

We understand the feeling. Walking into an unfamiliar gathering can be a little daunting, we know. After all, we were in your exact position just a while ago. That’s why we ensure there is always a friendly face to welcome you and people to connect with.

Below you can find out more about what to expect from a typical Sunday at House of Salvation.

Where and when do we meet?

We meet at the Theatre, Portlethen Academy. Bruntland Road. AB12 4QL. Our service starts at 11am on Sunday but feel free to arrive 10 minutes early so you can grab a coffee and settle the kinds in.

What can I expect?

Our services usually last for an hour and a half. It includes a short inspiring video session for reflection, followed by passionate songs of gospel worship. You are free to sit, stand, or even dance as most people end up doing.

There is a time of teaching where we use time-tested biblical principles to find answers to life questions. This usually leads to a short meditative session of prayer.

If you need help at any point during the service, there is usually a smiling face nearby and some of our Team officials who will be more than happy to help.

The service finishes off with a coffee and snack time which offers the perfect opportunity to connect with others and form friendship. Our ministers are also on hand at any time to offer a private or one-on-one session.

What about my kids?

We run a separate Children and Teens Church every Sunday (apart from the first Sunday of the month which serves as The Family Sunday). One of our Children’s Team Member will be happy to direct you to our children Check-in rooms.

Should I bring anything?

You can bring a friend, or come ready to meet some new ones! Also, we encourage note-taking during the sermon, so if that means notes on your phone to you, bring your phone, if that means paper and a pen, bring those with you!

Need a Bible? Download the Bible App below or we can gift you one on your first visit - just find one of our Host Team with an "Usher" tag and let them know you’re new!

Happy to welcome you

Whether you are new to Church, new to town, have been a Christian for a while or just curious, we will be glad to welcome you. We trust you will be blessed as you attend our services.
